My uncle posted this photo on Facebook and I kinda miss the the taste of food that cooked by firewood.
Really, cooking with firewoods makes the dishes taste so good that even me, a food addict, can't explain.
When I was still living in the Philippines, My mother used to cook "nilaga" a Filipino dish ((literally means 'boiled' , can be either pork or beef just as long as you use the boney parts with some meat bits in them with vegetables), with firewoods.
Have you eaten food cooked with firewoods?

Of Course I Can Cook!
Photos of the dishes I cooked last New Year's Eve
Even though I am now living here in Japan, I still can't ignore Philippine's tradition every New Year's eve.
I put all my strength in cooking all these dishes.
Standing in the kitchen for how many hours was all worth it when I saw how my husband's eyes popped when he saw all the dishes done. I can see how happy he was.
Most of the Japanese just eat soba and pre-boxed dinner during New Year's eve so it was his very first time to have an extravagant table like the Philippine style.
stuffed pork |
cordon bleu |
fish fillet with special tartar sauce |
karekare ala japones |
chapsuey |
I don't know how to call this yet but I put olive oil and white wine for this recipe |
fresh salad |
our table on new year's eve My husband was very pleased and ate a lot but I was very tired cooking. LOL |
